Chromatic aberration of hydrophilic and hydrophobic IOLs, published in JCRS
Using a polychromatic adaptive optics system, we measured psychopysically and objectively the longitudinal chromatic aberration (LCA) in eyes implanted with two IOLs of same design, but different materials (from PhysIOL) in a wide spectral range. Hartmann-Shack based LCA was consistently lower than the psychophysical LCA. Longitudinal chromatic aberrations were smaller with hydrophilic IOLs than with hydrophobic IOLs of the same design. The study was supported by PhysIOL through a collaborative agreement, and counted with the clinical support of members of the Instituto de Oftalmologia Avanzada. The paper is published in the Journal of Cataract and Refrative Surgery.
