Intraocular photobonding of intraocular lenses published in Translational Vision Science and Technology

Accommodating Intraocular Lenses are enabled by the engagement of the haptics with the peripheral region of the capsular bag. In a previous work we demonstrated photo-activated strong bonding of the capsular bag and polymer material. We have now proved intraocular photobonding, compliant with standard cataract surgery, using Rose Bengal as a photo-activator and green light for photoirradiation.

The work is published in the October 2018 issue of the ARVO journal Translational Vision Science and Technology.
